ABOUT US
The Virgin Islands Insurance Association (VIIA) is a unified group of local insurance professionals dedicated to protecting and educating our community. We exist to strengthen, support, and represent the insurance community in the Virgin Islands while educating the public about the important role insurance plays in protecting lives and businesses.
For over 50 years, our members—20 local agencies, brokers, insurers, and adjusters—have been part of the Virgin Islands’ story. Together, they have helped individuals, families, and businesses recover from life’s biggest challenges, including paying out more than $2 billion in hurricane-related claims after the 2017 storms.
Our Mission
We advocate for fair insurance laws, promote professionalism in the industry, and help the public make smart decisions about insurance. We do this through education, training, and by offering resources that support both our members and the wider community. We represent and support the Virgin Islands insurance industry through advocacy, education, and community awareness—while promoting professionalism, transparency, and public trust.
